Comitans Foundation is an organization belonging to the Third Sector, determined to address social challenges with special attention to people living in fragile conditions, and supporting selected social, cultural and scientific research activities.
Comitans Foundation was founded thanks to the legacy of Vincenzo Viti, and supports initiatives aimed at promoting education, culture and scientific research.
Vincenzo Viti, following the Christian inspiration of life, strongly wished to create a structure focusing in particular on people whose lives are affected by disease, weakness, marginalization, suffering, social isolation, needs or deviance.
With a pragmatic understanding of the present world, Vincenzo Viti had not identified single purpose, but had expressly encouraged a freedom of action, wishing that the foundation could become “a meeting place for men and women of thought”.
This view supports the development of an integrated approach across different sectors embracing different perspectives (social, scientific, cultural, environmental, spiritual etc.) and allows for the investigation of complex social challenges, generating a movement of values aimed at collaboration, integration, cooperation and dialogue.
OUR AIM IS TO FACILITATE AND PROMOTE AN EXCHANGE OF VALUES THROUGH A GLOBAL, SYSTEMIC AND INTEGRATED VIEW OF HUMAN BEINGS AND THE ENVIRONMENT IN WHICH THEY LIVE.
The Foundation supports actors who want to provide answers to situations of vulnerability. By facilitating an interdisciplinary exchange and movement of values which promote a global, systemic and integrated view.
The Foundation also hence wants to create and support dialogue and collaboration between different realities converging on common themes.
The aim is to mobilize and support the convergence of different values in order to create the synergies necessary to address complex challenges by promoting cultural and social changes.
COMMON GOOD, KNOWLEDGE, EMPOWERMEN
These are the values identified by COMITANS FOUNDATION, and on which it’s work is based.
