We developed a Web Application to support volunteers from third sector organizations who distribute food aid to families living in poverty with vulnerable mothers and children.

Food poverty is on the rise, often making access to quality food difficult: the right to food and healthy nutrition must be guaranteed to all, especially children living in fragile socioeconomic conditions.
The project NutriDONO contributes to equitable food accessibility for low-income families and people receiving food aid from local charities.
The purpose is threefold:
- to train and support volunteers from third sector organizations in distributing products to mothers and children adequate to their nutritional needs;
- to strengthen the awareness of needy families on the importance of adequate nutrition for their health;
- to bring to the attention of the food distribution system the need to include adequate foods in the packages in order to support the well-being of the beneficiaries.
The web App is based on sound scientific criteria and is able to collect data on missing food items needed to prepare a valuable food package. This database will also provide the information needed to promote the optimization of excess food distribution and production of donated food.
