GOALS of the 2023 AGENDA
Thanks to the project First Thousand Days of Life, Comitans Foundation and its partners are helping to support some of the Goals of the Agenda 2023
2. END HUNGER, ACHIEVE FOOD SECURITY, IMPROVE NUTRITION AND PROMOTE SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE
Comitans Foundation contributes to this goal by:
- promoting proper and healthy nutrition for children from conception to two years of age
- promoting a path of healthy and sustainable nutrition for pregnant and breastfeeding women in a state of social marginalization
- supporting sustainable production of foods with high nutritional value
3. ENSURING HEALTH AND WELLBEING FOR ALL AND AT ALL AGES
Comitans Foundation contributes to this goal:
- bringing knowledge to that target audience
- preventing alcohol abuse during pregnancy and breastfeeding, by fostering awareness about its adverse effects on fetal and child health.
4. PROVIDING BOTH A FAIR AND INCLUSIVE QUALITY EDUCATION, AND LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES FOR ALL
Comitans Foundation contributes to this goal by:
- instructing agricultural workers, young mothers and families on the value of healthy nutrition and sustainable production
- providing our partners with the knowledge necessary to develop new skills in their recipients so that the recipients themselves become competent and promoters of appropriate behaviors and of choices in nutrition and sustainable agriculture.
8. TO STIMULATE LASTING, INCLUSIVE AND SUSTAINABLE ECONOMIC GROWTH, FULL AND PRODUCTIVE EMPLOYMENT, AND DIGNIFIED WORK FOR ALL
Comitans Foundation contributes to this goal by:
- supporting cooperatives and companies that employ people at risk of marginalization such as people with disabilities, psychiatric patients, refugees and migrants and former prisoners..
- selecting partners and verifying that they comply with policies on human rights and safety, gender, and corporate welfare policies consistent with the values of the Foundation.
9. BUILDING A RESILIENT INFRASTRUCTURE, AND PROMOTING INNOVATION AND EQUITABLE,, RESPONSIBLE AND SUSTAINABLE INDUSTRIALISATION
Comitans Foundation contributes to this goal by:
- supporting scientific research in the field of nutrition also through the provision of scholarships and other support measures
12. ENSURING SUSTAINABLE PRODUCTION AND CONSUMPTION PATTERNS
Comitans Foundation contributes to this goal by:
- supporting sustainable production of food and conscious consumption of foods with high nutritional value.
17. STRENGTHEN THE MEANS OF IMPLEMENTATION AND RENEW THE GLOBAL PARTNERSHIP FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
Comitans Foundation contributes to this goal by:
- fostering the meeting of nonprofit organizations, companies, research institutions and public agencies around a common theme, and the development of synergies for the implementation of a project that integrates health, nutrition, sustainable food production and social solidarity.
